Bluestockings Is On My Map For Sure!
Tonight at 7 pm I'll be at Bluestockings in New York City, as part of the Best Women's Erotica book tour. This is one of my very favorite places to read and visit—they won me over the moment I saw they have a "postcolonial fiction" section, and I've never looked back.

Best Women's Erotica Book Tour
Editor Extraordinaire Rachel Kramer Bussel has put together a four-stop book tour for Best Women's Erotica, and I'll be participating in all three of the East Coast stops! You can see the details in the image below.
My story in Best Women's Erotica is "On Some Maps, But Not on Others." It's about a lot of not knowing—not understanding gender, not knowing quite why what turns you on turns you on, and not being sure what fulfillment would look like or how to go after it. I love the story. It rips me open. I avoid direct autobiography in my work, but the themes are often really true to me, and this story expresses a lot of the uncertainty I struggle with. It also puts forth the idea, which I believe, that embracing those uncertainties can be hot.
I'm really excited to share this with people at Sugar, Bluestockings, and WORD, and I'm also really looking forward to hearing from the other authors! Please join us if you're in town (and West Coast people, there's a stop for you, too!).

Tea and Books with Circlet
Today, I'm driving up to Boston to attend Circlet Press's Tea and Sexy Books Party at Arisia!
Circlet promises "tea to sip and sexy books for your perusal," and the good people there are not the type to disappoint. I'll likely wave around copies of the book I edited for Circlet recently: MakerSex: Erotic Stories of Geeks, Hackers, and DIY Culture.

See Me at Women's Week
This week I'll be at two events at Women's Week in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Thursday at 4 pm you can find me reading alongside Sacchi Green and Anna Watson at AMP Gallery.
Friday at 3 pm I'll be at Womencrafts with Sacchi Green, Anna Watson, Priscilla Scott Rhoades, and Elaine Burnes.

There are going to be so many awesome literary events. I'm pretty excited to attend, aside from the appearances. Let's talk about the appearances, though. These are in support of Sacchi's amazing anthology, Me and My Boi. That book is really special to me, and the last promotional event I went to for it proved to be a really touching experience. If you're able to make it out to this, I think you'll be glad you did. And if not, check out Me and My Boi. It's full of deeply moving explorations of gender and queerness, and it's super, super hot at the same time.

See Me Tonight at Bluestockings
I'm on my way to NYC tonight to read from Me and My Boi: Queer Erotic Stories, edited by Sacchi Green.

Can I just say how excited I am about this? Aimee Herman was the first person to send me an acceptance letter for my erotica, back at the much-missed Oysters and Chocolate. I've been reading many of these writers for years. It always blows my mind to be among people like that.
Also, the story I'm reading from, "Not Just Hair," is a special one to me. It's about changing identities, and the way that it doesn't really seem possible to come out only once. When I wrote it (several years ago now), I had no idea how incredibly relevant those themes would feel to me over the most recent years. I'm excited to share this with people.
